Frequently Asked Questions in Blue Ridge, GA
What can I expect on my first visit to your office?
As a new client, we want to welcome you warmly and help you and your pet feel as comfortable as possible. We understand that visiting a new veterinary clinic can be stressful, and we take every measure to ensure a calm and happy experience.
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a member of our team and escorted into an exam room. A veterinary assistant will review your pet’s history and any concerns you may have. Then, the veterinarian will examine your pet, answer questions, and discuss any necessary tests or treatments.
Before you leave, our front desk team will help with follow-up appointments and billing. We look forward to meeting your animal family!
My pet doesn’t seem to be improving after a visit. What should I do?
Please call us! Sometimes it takes more than one treatment to find the right solution. If your pet isn’t responding as expected, we’ll work with you to adjust the plan and find what works.
Why is my pet weighed at every visit?
Tracking your pet’s weight helps us ensure accurate medication dosing and monitor overall health. It can also alert us to early signs of medical issues before other symptoms appear.
My dog is well-trained. Do they still need to be leashed or crated?
Yes. For the safety of all pets and people, all animals must be leashed or in carriers while at the clinic. Even well-behaved pets can become anxious in a new environment. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to remove restraints during your visit.
Can you perform in-home euthanasia?
Yes, depending on your location, we do offer in-home euthanasia services. Please call our clinic to discuss your needs and schedule a visit.
Why is my pet being referred to a specialist?
Your pet’s health and well-being are our top priority. While we handle a wide range of care in-house, some conditions require specialized training or equipment. In those cases, we may refer you to a board-certified veterinary specialist to ensure the best outcome for your pet.
Is it okay to call the clinic with health concerns or questions about my pet?
Absolutely! While we can’t legally diagnose over the phone, we’re happy to answer general questions and help you schedule an appointment. A physical exam is required for a proper diagnosis and to ensure safe, effective care.
My pet is reactive around other animals. Can you accommodate that?
Yes—we want every visit to be as stress-free as possible. Let us know in advance if your pet has special needs or anxiety, and we’ll make arrangements for a smoother experience.
We also use calming products in our exam rooms, including Feliway for cats and Adaptil for dogs. These pheromone diffusers help reduce stress. Composure chews, a natural calming treat, are also available for home or travel use.
Can I drop my pet off for an appointment and pick them up later?
Yes, we offer drop-off appointments for your convenience. Just let us know when you call to schedule. Typically, pets are dropped off in the morning, and we’ll contact you when they’re ready to go home.
What’s the easiest way to schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment by calling us at (706) 946-7387 or by scheduling online through our website.
